Visa, Mastercard, Discover, DCI, and JCB are expanding their issuing BIN length from the current 6-digit BIN structure to an 8-digit BIN structure. Schemes will start issuing 8-digit BIN from April 2022, and will also continue to support existing 6-digit BINs.
To remain compatible with these changes Swiftaid now accepts both 6 and 8 digits BINs in the PaymentAccountReference and CardAccount objects used within onboarding donor information and the MatchInformation object used when attempting to determine if a donor has an existing Swiftaid account.
The Swiftaid API specification has been updated to show these changes.
